Nano zinc oxide (ZnO) is a new type of highly functional fine inorganic material with a particle size of less than 100 nanometers. It has extremely high chemical activity, excellent catalytic and photocatalytic activity, as well as resistance to infrared and ultraviolet radiation and sterilization functions. Its appearance is white hexagonal crystal or spherical particles, with an average particle size of about 50 nanometers and a specific surface area greater than 4 square meters per gram.
Physical and chemical properties
The particle size of nano zinc oxide ranges from 1-100 nanometers and has characteristics such as high transparency and high dispersibility. Due to changes in its surface electronic and crystal structures, nano zinc oxide exhibits special properties such as surface effects, volume effects, quantum size effects, and macroscopic tunneling effects. In addition, the refractive index of nano zinc oxide is low, and its diffuse reflectance to light is also low, which makes it excellent in optical applications.
